Il compito scomparso
Giovanni lavora duramente per completare un importante compito scolastico. Per settimane, fa ricerche, prende appunti e scrive il suo lavoro. Finalmente, la sera prima della consegna, Giovanni finisce il compito e lo mette sulla scrivania, pronto per il giorno dopo.
La mattina della consegna, Giovanni si sveglia presto. Si prepara per andare a scuola e va a prendere il suo compito. Ma con grande sorpresa, non lo trova sulla scrivania. Disperato, Giovanni decide di cercare in tutta la casa. Controlla il soggiorno, la sala da pranzo e persino il bagno, ma nulla.
Mentre cerca nel soggiorno, vede il suo fratellino Marco seduto al tavolo. Marco è tutto concentrato su un foglio di carta. Giovanni si avvicina e si accorge che il foglio è proprio il suo compito, ora pieno di disegni colorati di automobili e animali. “Marco!” esclama Giovanni, “Perché hai preso il mio compito?”
Marco, innocente, risponde: “Mi è sembrato un foglio di carta qualsiasi.”
Giovanni deve trovare una soluzione rapida. Decide di riscrivere il compito in fretta prima di andare a scuola. Si siede al tavolo e comincia a scrivere di nuovo, ricordando tutte le informazioni principali. Lavora rapidamente ma con attenzione. Sua madre gli prepara una colazione veloce.
Finalmente Giovanni riesce a terminare. Corre a scuola e arriva giusto in tempo per la consegna. È stanco, ma sollevato. Ha imparato una lezione importante: deve sempre tenere il suo lavoro al sicuro, lontano dalle mani curiose di suo fratello.
The Missing Assignment
Giovanni works hard to complete an important school assignment. For weeks, he does research, takes notes, and writes his paper. Finally, the night before the due date, Giovanni finishes the assignment and puts it on his desk, ready for the next day.
On the morning of the due date, Giovanni wakes up early. He gets ready to go to school and goes to get his assignment. But to his surprise, he can’t find it on the desk. He starts searching the entire room, opening drawers and looking under books. The assignment seems to have disappeared. Giovanni gets worried and starts to panic.
He runs to the kitchen and asks his mother, “Have you seen my assignment? It was on the desk last night.” His mother shakes her head and says no. Giovanni asks his father too, but the answer is the same. Desperate, Giovanni decides to search the whole house. He checks the living room, the dining room, and even the bathroom, but nothing.
While searching the living room, he sees his little brother Marco sitting at the table. Marco is fully focused on a sheet of paper. Giovanni approaches and realizes that the sheet is his assignment, now full of colorful drawings of cars and animals. “Marco!” exclaims Giovanni, “Why did you take my assignment?”
Marco, innocent, replies, “It looked like just a piece of paper.”
Giovanni has to find a quick solution. He decides to rewrite the assignment quickly before going to school. He sits at the table and starts writing again, recalling all the main information. He works quickly but carefully. His mother prepares a quick breakfast for him.
Finally, Giovanni manages to finish. He runs to school and arrives just in time for the submission. He is tired but relieved. He has learned an important lesson: he must always keep his work safe, away from his brother’s curious hands.
